Skidder Row is a short, easy hike in L.L. "Stub" Stewart State Park in Oregon, on city-managed land about half a mile from the park's center. The route is an out-and-back of about a mile, with a rolling climb that gains about 327 feet over the course of the trip. The steepest stretch comes early, at about 9 percent grade, and the trail returns to the starting point. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Vernonia show July and August highs around 77 to 78°F with only about four wet days a month, while winter months bring highs in the mid-40s and rain on 20 days a month. The trail sits close to several mountain biking routes, including the Unfit Settlement View Trail about 0.1 mile away and the Lasso Loop and Peavey Hook Bridleway, each about 0.3 mile off. Paddlers can find the Nehalem River about 7 miles away.
