Scott Pass is an easy hike in Oregon's Three Sisters Wilderness, within the Sisters Ranger District of the Deschutes National Forest. The trail is a short out-and-back, about 1.2 miles long, and it rises to 6,082 feet from a starting point near 6,060 feet. That makes it a low-elevation route, with only about 300 feet of gain one way, and it's a natural-surface trail that is open year-round. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is set up for horses, which are allowed. Bikes are not. The route's steepest stretch comes early, around the quarter-mile mark, where the grade reaches about 20%, though the rest of the climb is gentle. North Matthieu Lake is about 1.4 miles away, and Trout Creek Tie is about 1.8 miles off. Lava Camp Lake and Millican Crater sit about 2 miles from the pass. For an overnight stay, Benson Lake/Scott Lake Complex is roughly 5.9 miles away.
