Mt. Bolivar is a 2-mile out-and-back hike in Oregon's Wild Rogue Wilderness, within the Powers Ranger District of the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forests. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail lies entirely within designated wilderness. The route gains about 1,781 feet over the course of the hike, with the steepest stretch around 0.77 miles from the start. The trail begins at roughly 3,942 feet and reaches a high point of 3,966 feet, making it a moderate climb that pairs a short distance with a significant ascent. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Sexton Summit show July and August highs around 77°F with only about two wet days a month, while winter months average highs in the low 40s and 16 wet days. The trip runs from June 1 to October 31. Plan on about 1.5 hours for the outing. The trail is natural-surface and not accessible. Bikes and horses are not allowed. Nearby, Mule Creek offers canoeing about 3 miles away, and Eden Valley campground is about 3.1 miles off. Panther Ridge and the Old Multnomah Goat Trail are both hikes within about 8 miles.
