Coquille River Falls is an easy hike on natural ground in the Powers Ranger District of the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forests in southwest Oregon. It is an out-and-back trip of about 0.9 miles, with a round-trip elevation gain of about 606 feet from a low point around 1,250 feet to a high point near 1,650 feet. The trail is managed by the Forest Service and sits within the Powers Ranger District, about 0.9 miles from Island Camp. The most comfortable stretch for a visit is typically late spring and early fall. Typical averages from the nearby Illahe weather station show May highs around 75°F and October highs around 69°F, while July and August average about 90°F. That station sits about 1,300 feet lower than the trail's high point, so temperatures on the route run cooler. The trip takes about half a day. The open season runs from June 1 to October 31. The trail is not accessible and does not allow horses or bikes. Nearby, Island Camp and Sru Lake offer camping within about a mile and a half. The Wild Rogue Loop and Daphne Grove are both hikes within about 2 miles.
