Minto Pass Tie is a short, easy hike in the Mount Jefferson Wilderness, part of the Sisters Ranger District of Deschutes National Forest in Oregon. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is about 0.4 miles long, with a total elevation gain of 193 feet. It is an out-and-back route, and the climb is front-loaded, with the steepest stretch at about 0.13 miles in. The trail is on natural surface, and horses are allowed. Bikes are not. The route starts at about 5,211 feet and reaches a high point of about 5,342 feet before returning to the starting elevation. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Santiam Junction show July and August highs around 76°F with lows near 42°F. That station sits well below the pass, so temperatures on the trail run cooler. Minto Lake is about 0.3 miles away, and Old Summit Trail #4014 is about half a mile off. Canyon Creek Meadow Loop Trail is about 1.3 miles away, and Jack Creek Campground is about 5.8 miles away.
