Meek Lake is a moderate out-and-back hike in Oregon's Deschutes National Forest, within the Crescent Ranger District. The trail is about 4.7 miles long, with a total elevation gain of 1,078 feet, and it reaches a high point of 5,988 feet. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route is natural-surfaced, with horses and bikes allowed. The climb is steepest near the start, with a 12% grade at about 0.47 miles. The trail is open year-round, and the trip takes about two hours. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Odell Lake show July and August highs around 73 to 74°F with only about three wet days a month, while winter brings highs in the mid-30s and regular snow days. Snell Lake and Summit Lake are both within about 2.3 miles, and Windy Group Camp and Timpanogas offer camping about 2.7 miles away.
