Littler Pit Lake is a short, easy hike in the Diamond Lake Ranger District of Oregon's Umpqua National Forest, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is about 0.4 miles long and rises about 23 feet from its low point of 4,401 feet to a high of 4,433 feet. It is an out-and-back route with a flat profile, and the steepest stretch comes at about 0.14 miles in, with a grade of about 5 percent. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July and August highs around 79°F with only about four wet days a month, while winter brings highs in the upper 30s and regular snow days from December through February. The trail is open from June 1 to October 31, and the trip takes about half an hour. Bikes and horses are not allowed, and the surface is natural. Thielsen Forest Camp and Millsite are both about a mile away, and the Elephant Mt. Loop Winter hike is also about a mile off. East Lemolo Campground is roughly 2.8 miles away.
