Lakes is a 4.6-mile out-and-back hike in the Rogue-Umpqua Divide Wilderness, part of the Tiller Ranger District of the Umpqua National Forest in Oregon. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is rated moderate with a one-way elevation gain of 1,004 feet. The route starts at about 4,293 feet and reaches a high point of 4,353 feet, with the steepest stretch around the 2-mile mark at about 27% grade. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July and August highs around 79°F with only about four wet days a month, while winter brings highs in the upper 30s and regular snow days. The trail is natural-surface and allows horses and bikes. It is not an accessible trail. Buckeye Lake and the Acker Divide Trail both sit within a third of a mile. Camp Comfort Campground is about 4.6 miles away, and the Black Rock Fork paddling route is about 5.2 miles off.
