Ladee 801 is a moderate 3.4-mile out-and-back hike in Oregon's Mt. Hood National Forest, within the Clackamas River Ranger District. It's a natural-surface trail, and the Forest Service manages the surrounding land. The route begins at an elevation of about 2,028 feet, climbs to a high point of 2,185 feet, and then returns. The total elevation gain and loss are each about 767 feet. The steepest stretch comes at about 1.6 miles into the hike, with a grade of roughly 16 percent. That makes the trail a moderate climb with a notable uphill push in the middle. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. A nearby weather station records typical July and August highs in the upper 70s with only four or five wet days a month, while winter brings highs around 41°F and rain on 20 or more days. That station sits well below the trail, so expect cooler temperatures on the higher part of the route. The hike takes about 1.5 hours. Ladee 801A and Memaloose and Clackamas Falls are both about 0.7 miles away, Lazy Bend campground is about 0.8 miles off, and the North Fork Clackamas River is about 2.9 miles away for paddling.
