Greenwaters is an easy, short loop hike in Oregon's Willamette National Forest, within the Middle Fork Ranger District and the Greenwaters Park unit, which is managed as city land. The trail is about 1.3 miles long, with a gentle climb from roughly 1,166 feet to about 1,203 feet, so the total elevation gain is about 25 feet one way. Summer and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from the Oakridge Fish Hatchery weather station, just 0.7 miles away, put July and August highs in the low 80s with only two or three wet days a month, while winter brings highs in the low 40s and regular rain. The trail is open from March 1 to November 30. Bikes are allowed on the natural-surface route. Within a few miles you'll find the Rigdon Bike Path and the Warrior Cross Country Loop, and the Packard Creek and Salmon Creek Falls campgrounds are a short drive away for an overnight stay.
