Wren Loop is an easy, short hike in Oregon's Willamette National Forest, within the Middle Fork Ranger District. The route is 1.6 miles long and runs out and back, with a total elevation gain of 24 feet, so it's a low-stakes outing that fits easily into a longer day on the trail network. The trail's natural surface and its classification as an easy route make it a straightforward choice. Bikes are allowed, so you can ride it as well as walk it. The trail is open from March 1 to November 15, and the nearest weather station, at Oakridge Fish Hatchery, records typical averages of highs around 80°F with only a few wet days in July and August, making summer the most comfortable time to go. Deception Butte sits just 0.2 miles away, and Alpine Trail and Lower Middle Fork are within a mile. For overnight stays, Black Canyon Campground and Picnic is about 3.8 miles off.
