Eastern Brook Lake is an easy, one-mile out-and-back hike in Oregon's Waldo Lake Wilderness, on the Middle Fork Ranger District of the Willamette National Forest. The Forest Service manages the land. The route rises about 164 feet from a low point of 5,030 feet to a high point of 5,215 feet, with the steepest stretch, a 12% grade, near the start. The trail's natural surface makes it suitable for horses, and bikes are not allowed. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Odell Lake put July and August highs in the mid-70s, with only about three wet days a month. Winter brings highs in the mid-30s and snow on roughly 10 days a month. The trip takes about half a day. The Wahanna Trail #3583 starts less than a third of a mile away, and Taylor Butte is about half a mile off. For camping, Skookum Creek Campground and North Waldo are both within about 4 miles.
