Drip Torch Trail is a short, easy hike in L.L. "Stub" Stewart State Park in Oregon, on city-managed land. The trail is about 0.37 miles long, and the round trip adds up to roughly 0.74 miles with a total elevation gain of about 359 feet. The climb is back-loaded, with the steepest stretch at about 0.1 mile in, where the grade reaches 16 percent. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Vernonia show July and August highs around 77 to 78°F with only about four wet days a month, while winter months bring highs in the mid-40s and rain on 20 days a month. The trail sits among a cluster of mountain biking routes, with Rinse and Repeat, Greenhorn Trail (upper) and Railyard all about 0.1 mile away. Paddlers can find the Nehalem River about 7 miles off.
