Crescent Mountain is an easy 2-mile out-and-back hike in the Sweet Home Ranger District of the Willamette National Forest in Oregon, managed by the Forest Service. The trail rises about 124 feet from a low point of 3,603 feet to a high of 3,739 feet, with the steepest stretch at about 0.2 miles in, where the grade reaches 14 percent. The surface is natural, and bikes are allowed. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the nearby Santiam Junction weather station, at a similar elevation, run to highs around 76°F in July and August with lows near 42°F. Winter highs there stay in the upper 30s. Lava View Loop, a cross-country ski route, lies about 0.9 miles away, and the Lava Flats Loop hike is about 1.3 miles off. For an overnight stay, Fish Lake Remount Depot Cabins is about 2.1 miles away, and Lost Prairie campground is about 2.8 miles away.
