China Ditch Trail is a short, easy hike in southern Oregon, about 2.7 miles from the town of Jacksonville. The trail is an out-and-back route of about 1.2 miles, with a total climb of about 240 feet and a steepest stretch of about 14% grade at roughly 0.44 miles in. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Sexton Summit show July and August highs around 77°F with only about two wet days a month, while winter months bring highs in the low 40s and rain on roughly half the days. Several other trails sit close by. Shade Creek Trail is about 0.3 miles away, and Twin Peaks Trail and Canyon Falls Trail are each about 0.4 miles off. Canyon Vista Trail is about half a mile away.
