Boulder Creek is a short, easy hike in Oregon's Boulder Creek Wilderness, part of the Diamond Lake Ranger District of the Umpqua National Forest. The trail is managed by the Forest Service and lies within the wilderness, so it is a backcountry outing rather than a forest road or developed route. The route is under a quarter of a mile long and rises about 107 feet from the start. The climb is steepest within the first few steps, reaching a grade of 18%, before leveling off. The trail begins at the Boulder Creek (North) Trailhead, and the whole trip takes about half an hour. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical July and August highs reach about 79°F with only a few wet days a month, according to averages from a nearby weather station. That station sits roughly 1,300 feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the hike run cooler. Bear Camp Shelter, a campground about 0.4 miles away, is the closest nearby stop. Fuller Lake, Grassy Ranch and Reynolds Shelter lie within about 2 miles.
