Wahtum Lake Campground is a Forest Service campground in the Hood River Ranger District of Mt. Hood National Forest in Oregon. It sits within the forest's ranger district, and the nearest town is Government Camp, about 19 miles away. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Government Camp weather station show July and August highs around 70°F with only about four wet days a month, while winter months bring highs in the mid-30s and rain on most days. The campground is not reservable, so plan on arriving and securing a spot on site. Two trails start right next door: the Anthill hike and the Wahtum Horse Trail #406H, both about a tenth of a mile away. Ottertail Lake campground is under a mile off, and Black Lake campground is about 3 miles away.
