Rainy Lake is a Forest Service campground in the Hood River Ranger District of Mt. Hood National Forest in Oregon. It sits within the national forest's boundaries, and the nearest town is Government Camp, about 22 miles away. The site is simple, with vault toilets as the only listed amenity. A fee is charged for stays. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Government Camp weather station show July and August highs around 70°F with only about four wet days a month, while winter months bring highs in the mid-30s and rain on most days. The Rainy-Wahtum hike starts just 0.1 mile away, and the Black Lake campground is under a mile off. North Lake is about a mile away, and Ottertail Lake is roughly 3 miles away.
