Spalding Pond is a primitive Forest Service campground in the Wild Rivers Ranger District of the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forests in southern Oregon. It sits near the historic mill site pond, which is stocked with rainbow trout annually by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife. The site has four campsites with picnic tables and fire pits. There is an accessible trail and fishing platform. Facilities are basic: vault toilets, no drinking water and no trash service, so visitors must pack out what they bring in. Fishing is best in spring to early summer. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Sexton Summit show June highs around 68°F and July and August highs near 77°F, with only a couple of wet days a month in midsummer. Nearby options include Swede Creek, about 4 miles away, and River Bench Campground and Horn Bend Trail, each about 4.1 miles off. Echo Beach Campground is roughly 4.5 miles away.
