Riverside Campground is a rustic Forest Service site in the Clackamas River Ranger District of Mt. Hood National Forest, Oregon, set alongside the Wild and Scenic Clackamas River. It serves as a base for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding, with trails starting right from the campground. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July and August highs around 78 to 79°F with only four or five wet days a month, while winter months bring highs in the low 40s and rain on about 20 days. Vault toilets are the only amenity. A fee is charged for stays. Riverford campground sits about 0.7 miles away, and the Riverside (Mt. Hood National Forest, OR) campground is about 1.1 miles off. Hikers can head to Alder Flat, about 2.6 miles away, or Fish Creek Mountain, about 2.9 miles away.
