Millers Lane Campground sits on the south shore of Phillips Lake in the Whitman Ranger District of Oregon's Wallowa-Whitman National Forest, about 0.7 miles from Southwest Shore Campground. Managed by the Forest Service, it is the smallest of the three campgrounds near the lake, set in an open ponderosa pine forest. The site is warm and suited to outdoor activities, with 11 tent/trailer sites and 4 tent-only sites. Vault toilets are the only facility. Fluctuating water levels can make the lake a short hike away from the campground, so plan on getting to the water before heading out on a boat or for a swim. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July and August highs around 83°F with only about four or five wet days a month. Winter is much colder, with January highs near 34°F. Nearby options include the Rim Rock Trail at 0.8 miles and the Jeep Ride Trail at 1 mile. South Shore Trail and Union Creek Campground lie within about 2.3 miles.
