Little Crater Campground sits on the Bend/Fort Rock Ranger District of Deschutes National Forest in central Oregon, managed by the Forest Service. The campground has 49 campsites, most of which sit on or within a minute of the water. The site is set up for a mix of tent and RV stays, with ample space for both trailers and rigs. There is a boat launch on site, and the RV dump station for Paulina Lake Campground is close by. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Odell Lake weather station show July and August highs around 73 to 74°F with only a few wet days a month, while winter brings highs in the mid-30s and regular snow from November through March. That station sits roughly 1,500 feet lower than the campground, so temperatures here run cooler. Several trails start right around the camp. The Little Crater Loop is just 0.1 mile away, and the Paulina Lakeshore Trail #3955 and Silica are each about 0.2 mile off. For more camping, the Newberry Group campground is about 0.7 mile away.
