Paulina Lake is a Forest Service campground in the Bend/Fort Rock Ranger District of Oregon's Deschutes National Forest. It sits among a cluster of trails, with the Paulina Nordic Loop, Newberry Crater Trail and Crater Rim Trail #3957 all about 0.2 miles away, and the Paulina Lakeshore Loop about 0.3 miles off. The most comfortable months for a visit are July and August, when typical averages from a nearby weather station run to highs around 73 to 74°F and only about three wet days a month. That station sits roughly 1,500 feet lower than the lake, so temperatures at the campground run cooler. Winter is cold and snowy, with typical highs in the mid-30s and about 10 snow days a month from December through February. The campground has flush toilets, and a fee is charged. Newberry Group campground is about a mile away, and Little Crater and East Lake are within about 3.2 miles.
