Lake In The Woods is a Forest Service campground in the North Umpqua Ranger District of Oregon's Umpqua National Forest. The closest town is Toketee Falls, about 14 miles away, and the surrounding forest is managed by the U.S. Forest Service. The site is set up for a base camp, with flush toilets among the amenities. A fee is charged for stays. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical July averages from the nearby Toketee Falls weather station run to highs around 86°F and lows near 52°F, with only about three wet days that month. Winter there is cold and damp, with highs in the low 40s and 18 to 19 wet days a month from December through January. Hemlock Creek and Yakso Falls, both hikes, start just 0.1 mile away. Hemlock Lake campground is about 2 miles off, and Little River, a canoeing spot, lies roughly 2.3 miles away.
