Hobo Camp Campground is a small, four-campsite roadside camp in the Cottage Grove Ranger District of Oregon's Umpqua National Forest, managed by the Forest Service. It sits along Forest Service Road 2470 and is set up for a low-key weekend stay, with four campsites that have picnic tables and fire pits and a group campsite with two picnic tables and a large fire pit. The vault toilet is the only facility, and there is no drinking water or garbage service, so visitors must pack out their trash. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Oakridge Fish Hatchery weather station show July and August highs around 80 to 81°F with only two or three wet days a month, while winter brings highs in the low 40s and rain on more than half the days. The surrounding area offers plenty to pair with a stay. Brice Creek, about half a mile away, is a paddling spot, and the Adams Mountain Way hike and Lund Park Forest Camp are also within half a mile. Cedar Creek Campground is about 2.5 miles off.
