Kerr - Arboretum is a short, easy hike in the Choctaw Ranger District of Oklahoma's Ouachita National Forest, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is about 1.4 miles long and rises about 90 feet from a low point of 1,307 feet to a high of 1,353 feet, with the steepest stretch at about 0.14 miles in. The route is flat overall, and the one-way elevation gain is 34 feet. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Smithville, Oklahoma, show April highs around 72°F and October highs around 73°F, while July and August average about 91°F. The hike takes about half an hour. Two other short Kerr trails sit close by: Kerr - Struggle for Survival is about 0.1 mile away and Kerr - Soil and You is about 0.2 mile away. Winding Stair campground is about 3.4 miles off, and the Kiamichi River, a canoeing route, is about 3.6 miles away.
