Mars Quarry is a short, easy hike in Cuyahoga Valley National Park, managed by the National Park Service, about 0.2 miles from Walton Hills, Ohio. The route is an out-and-back, roughly 1.6 miles long, with a total elevation gain of 121 feet from the low point at 873 feet to the high point at 917 feet. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 68°F and September highs around 74°F, with July the warmest month at about 81°F. That station sits several hundred feet lower than the quarry, so temperatures here run a little cooler. Karl's Corner is about half a mile away, and Wild Oaks Loop and Eddie's Wildlife Pass are within a mile. Viaduct Park Bouldering, a climbing area, is about 2.1 miles off.
