Bloodroot is a hard hike on the Athens Ranger District of Wayne National Forest in Ohio, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is about 17 miles long and has a one-way climb of 763 feet, reaching a high point of about 980 feet. The trail is natural-surfaced and not accessible. Bikes are allowed, but horses are not. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 72°F and September highs around 76°F, with July the warmest month at about 82°F. Beech Drop is a short hike just 0.2 miles away, and Till Hill and Thrillium are each about 0.9 miles off. For more time in the district, Burr Oak Campground is about 8.4 miles away.
