Three Trails is a cross-country ski route in New York, about a mile from the community of Shady Corner Curve. It is a short, out-and-back trip of roughly 0.9 miles, with a total climb of about 117 feet and a steepest grade of about 9% near the middle of the route. The trail is rated moderate. Winter is the natural season for skiing here. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Lake Placid show January highs around 23°F with lows near 6°F, while February runs a little warmer, with highs around 27°F. The station sits a few hundred feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the route run slightly cooler. Several other ski routes lie within a short distance, including Three Trails Cutoff, Dog Bone and Cascade, each about 0.2 miles away. For a change of pace, the West Branch Ausable River offers canoeing about 1.8 miles off.
