The Nose is a climbing area in Harriman State Park in New York, managed by State Park and Recreation. It sits among several other climbing spots, with The Beard and The Ear both about 0.1 mile away and Kitty Doll at a similar distance. The White Diamond Trail is 0.2 mile off, so the area works well for a short hike before or after a climb. The climbing here is all sport, with nine routes spread across a range from 5.0 to 5.10+. The easiest is Right Nostril at 5.0, and the hardest is Pince-Nez at 5.10+. The median grade is 5.7, so the area suits climbers with a range of abilities. For timing, late spring and early fall are the most comfortable. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 71°F and September highs around 76°F, with July peaking near 84°F. Beyond the climbing, the Ramapo River offers fishing about 4 miles away, and Monksville Reservoir is roughly 8 miles off.
