Check Book is a climbing area in Harriman State Park in New York, managed by State Park and Recreation. It sits among several other climbing areas, including 2.1 Monkey Bar, The Nose and The Beard, all about 0.1 mile away. The White Diamond Trail starts about 0.2 mile off, and the 7 Hills Trail is about 0.6 mile away. The area has 28 routes, mostly sport climbs with a few mixed routes. The YDS grades run from 5.3 to 5.10b, with the median around 5.8. Among the named routes are Growth Angle at 5.3, Emerging Prominence at 5.7+ and Unwinding the Transaction at 5.10b. For timing, late spring and early fall are the most comfortable. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 71°F and September highs around 76°F, with July peaking near 84°F. That station sits about 400 feet lower than the park, so temperatures on the rock run a little cooler.
