Freefall / Fringe is a bouldering area in New York, about 0.2 miles from the town of Ramapo. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with Boulder Road, West Terrace and God Jam Buttress all within about a tenth of a mile, and the White Diamond Trail just as close. The area is a short walk from town, making it an easy stop for climbers and hikers alike. The climbing here is all bouldering, with seven routes spread across the V0 to V5 range. The easiest are Free Warmup at V0 and Warmups at V0-1, while Say Cheese is the hardest at V5. The routes are close together, so it's easy to move from one to another in a single visit. For timing, late spring and early fall are the most comfortable. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 71°F and September highs around 76°F, with July peaking near 84°F. Beyond the climbing, the 7 Hills Trail and Seven Hills hikes are within a mile. Across the state line in New Jersey, the Ramapo River offers fishing about 4 miles away.
