Bella Vista Slab is a climbing area in the Wilcox Lake Wild Forest in New York, managed by the State Department of Conservation. It sits among a cluster of other climbing areas, with Eastern Nose, The Laboratory and Bottom Tier all about 0.3 miles away, and Main Slab about 0.4 miles off. The routes here are all trad, with grades ranging from 5.3 to 5.7+. Six routes are listed, including Le Jeur de Bon Heures at 5.3, Bella Vista at 5.7 and Leftover at 5.7+. Most of them were first ascended in 2012. Summer is the most comfortable time to climb. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run to highs around 75°F in July, with lows in the mid-50s. That station sits about 800 feet lower than the slab, so temperatures on the slab run cooler. For a change from the rock, Crane Mountain Path is about 1.3 miles away, and Round Pond Trail, Ridge Trail and Lizard Pond trail are all within about 4.5 miles.
