Upper Sis

Upper Sis is a short, moderate mountain biking route on county land in Westchester, New York, set within the County of Westchester's land. The ride is an out-and-back of about 1.7 miles with a total climb of about 36 feet, from a low of about 397 feet to a high of about 452 feet. The steepest section comes at about 0.49 miles in, with a grade of about 5 percent. The trail sits among a cluster of other routes, and its location makes it an easy addition to a ride around the neighborhood. The most comfortable months for riding are late spring and early fall. Typical averages from the Shrub Oak weather station, about 5.6 miles away, put May highs near 71°F and September highs near 75°F, while July averages around 84°F and winter highs stay in the upper 30s. Several other routes lie within about a tenth of a mile, including Crossover, Bailey's and Yang. Blue Mountain Park, a climbing area, is about 0.6 miles away, and Tea Town Boulders is about 6 miles off.
