Vernay Lakeside is a short, easy hike of about 0.4 miles on Teatown Lake Reservation Land in New York, managed by a non-governmental organization. The route rises about 57 feet from a low point of 336 feet to a high of 396 feet, with the steepest stretch at about 0.15 miles in, where the grade reaches 8 percent. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 70°F and September highs around 74°F, while July peaks near 83°F and January highs sit around 35°F. The Three Lakes Loop and the White Trail both start within about a tenth of a mile. Tea Town Boulders, a climbing area, is about 0.3 miles away, and the Lakeside Loop is about half a mile off.
