Veery Trail is a short, easy hike in New York, about 1.6 miles from Bedford Four Corners. The route is 0.55 miles long, with a one-way climb of 144 feet from a starting elevation of about 534 feet to a high point of 541 feet. The trail is a point-to-point route, and the climb is front-loaded, with the steepest stretch at about 0.19 miles in, where the grade reaches 23 percent. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 69°F and September highs around 74°F, with July the warmest month at about 83°F. Bikes and horses are not allowed on this trail. Several other trails start close by, including Laurel Trail at 0.1 mile and Fox Run Trail and Hemlock Trail at 0.2 mile. Westmoreland Sanctuary, a climbing area, is about 0.4 mile away.
