Hemlock Trail is a short, easy hike in New York, about 1.6 miles from Bedford Four Corners. The route is 0.54 miles long, with a one-way climb of 99 feet from a starting elevation of about 611 feet to a high point of 628 feet. The trail is a point-to-point route, and the climb is front-loaded, with the steepest stretch at about 0.05 miles in. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 70°F and September highs around 74°F, with July the warmest month at about 83°F. Bikes and horses are not allowed on this trail. Laurel Trail and Veery Trail both start about 0.2 miles away, and Spruce Hill Trail is about 0.3 miles off. Westmoreland Sanctuary, a climbing area, is about half a mile away.
