Red Arrow Trail is a short, moderate hike in Harriman State Park in New York, managed by State Park and Recreation. The trail is an out-and-back route of about 0.9 miles, with a total elevation gain of 197 feet from a low point of 986 feet to a high of 1081 feet. The steepest stretch comes early, at about 0.14 miles in, with an 8% grade. The most comfortable months for a visit are late spring and early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run from highs around 70°F in May to about 74°F in September, with July the warmest at about 83°F. That station sits roughly 400 feet lower than the trail's high point, so temperatures on the trail run a little cooler. The hike takes about half an hour. The Tuxedo - Mt. Ivy Trail is about 0.3 miles away, and File Factory Hollow and Breakneck Mountain Trail are within a mile. Climbers can find Harriman State Park about 2.3 miles off.
