Overlook Trail is a 3.6-mile hike in New York's Indian Head Wilderness, managed by the State Department of Conservation. It is a point-to-point route with a total elevation gain of 844 feet, rising from about 2,200 feet to a high of 2,948 feet. The trail is rated easy, and the steepest stretch comes at about 3.3 miles, where the grade reaches 15 percent. Summer and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Platte Clove show July highs around 80°F and September highs near 72°F, with temperatures on the trail running cooler than those figures because the station sits roughly 900 feet lower. The trail sits right next to Devil's Path, about 0.1 mile away, and Huckleberry Point Trail is about 1.6 miles off. Pecoy Notch Trail and Twilight Park Trail are both within about 3 miles.
