Blue Trail is a short, easy hike in New York, set on the Town of New Castle Gedney land in the town of New Castle. The route is a point-to-point walk of about 0.4 miles, with a total elevation gain of 212 feet from a starting point around 568 feet to a high of 592 feet. The steepest stretch comes early, at about 0.14 miles in, with a 10% grade. The most comfortable months for a visit are late spring and early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run from highs around 70°F in May to about 74°F in September, with July the warmest at about 83°F. The trail makes an easy addition to a longer outing. The Yellow Trail and Red Trail both lie about 0.3 miles away, and the Hudson Valley Greenway Trail (New Castle to Mahopac) is about a mile off. Tea Town Boulders, a climbing area, is roughly 2.5 miles away.
