The Haverstraw River Trail is a 3.4-mile point-to-point hike in Haverstraw Beach State Park in New York, managed by State Park and Recreation. The route is rated easy, with a total elevation gain of 179 feet, and it runs from a low point of about 5 feet to a high of about 106 feet. Bikes are allowed on the trail, but horses are not. For comfortable weather, aim for late spring or early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Dobbs Ferry-Ardsley show May highs around 73°F and September highs around 77°F, with July the warmest month at about 86°F. The Long Path passes within about a third of a mile of the trail, and the Rockland Lake Jogging and Bike Path is about 2.9 miles away. Paddlers can reach the Croton River about 4.2 miles off, and climbers will find Rocky Glen Pond about 6.1 miles away.
