Duggan Trail is a short, easy hike in Black Rock Forest in New York, a protected area managed by a non-governmental organization. The trail is a point-to-point route of about 0.4 miles, with a total elevation gain of 157 feet from a starting point at about 666 feet to a high of 749 feet. The steepest stretch comes at about 0.22 miles in, with an 8% grade. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at West Point put May highs around 72°F and September highs around 76°F, while July averages about 85°F and January highs sit near 36°F. That station sits roughly 430 feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the trail run a bit cooler. The hike takes about half an hour. Resevoir Trail is about 0.3 miles away, and Honey Hill Trail and Black Rock Hollow Trail are each within a mile. Storm King Mountain, a climbing area, is about 1.6 miles off.
