Stillman Spring Trail is a short, easy hike in New York's Storm King State Park, managed by State Park and Recreation. The trail is 0.7 miles long, with a total elevation gain of 427 feet from a low point of 211 feet to a high of 650 feet. The steepest stretch comes at about 0.57 miles, with a grade of 15 percent. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at West Point put May highs around 72°F and September highs around 76°F, with July peaking near 85°F. That station sits about 330 feet lower than the trail's high point, so temperatures on the summit run cooler. The hike takes about half an hour.
