Blue Ledges Trail is a 2.2-mile point-to-point hike in the Vanderwhacker Mountain Wild Forest in New York, managed by the State Department of Conservation. The trail is rated easy, and it gains about 374 feet in elevation, with the high point at 1,637 feet. The climb is front-loaded, with the steepest stretch at about 2.1 miles in, where the grade reaches 18%. The trail starts at roughly 1,627 feet, so the climb is a short, steady one rather than a long, drawn-out ascent. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Indian Lake show July highs around 75°F with lows near 54°F, while winter highs stay in the 20s. The Hudson River Access Trail lies about 1.9 miles away, and the Big Bad Luck Pond Trail and the G: Indian Lake Region climbing area are each about 3.3 miles off. Paddlers can reach Big Brook, about 8.7 miles away.
