Simms Park (Elena Gallegos Picnic Area) is a bouldering area in the Sandia Mountain Wilderness, part of the Sandia Ranger District of Cibola National Forest in New Mexico. The Forest Service manages the land, and the picnic area sits within the wilderness boundary. The climbing here is all bouldering, with four routes ranging from V3 to V10. The most straightforward is The Crimp Line at V3, and the hardest is Monsieur Pain at V10. The area is close to the Main Area and Upper Simms climbing areas, both within half a mile. For timing, late spring and early fall are the most comfortable. Typical averages from the nearby Sandia Park weather station run from highs around 73°F in May to about 77°F in September, with lows in the 40s. Winter is cold, with January highs near 44°F and lows around 19°F. Hikers can reach the Elena Gallegos Access Road and the Pino hike within a mile. The Sandia Mountains climbing area is about 1.2 miles away.
