Red Rock Arroyo is a climbing area in the Magdalena Ranger District of Cibola National Forest in New Mexico, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among a cluster of other climbing spots, with Full Moon Wall, The Northwest Passage and Luna Park all within about half a mile. The area is a small, compact cluster of traditional routes, with three routes listed: Recon at 5.6, Chutes and Ladders at 5.7 and X-Man at 5.8. All are trad climbs, and the grades sit in the 5.6 to 5.8 range. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Winston, NM, show May highs around 79°F and October highs around 71°F, while July and August bring the most wet days, about nine and ten a month. For a longer outing, the Grand Enchantment Trail and the Shipman hike both lie about 4.6 miles away.
