Manitoba/Montgomery Trailhead is a climbing area in the Sandia Mountain Wilderness, part of the Sandia Ranger District of Cibola National Forest in New Mexico. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trailhead sits within the wilderness, which makes it a base for exploring the surrounding bouldering and hiking. The area is a cluster of bouldering spots, with Boulder A, First Step and North Ridge Steps all about 0.1 mile away. The route count here is small, with two bouldering routes listed: The 6 at V6 and The 10 at V9. The climbing is all bouldering, and the grades sit in the V6 to V9 range. For timing, late spring and early fall are the most comfortable. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 78°F and October highs around 68°F, while July and August bring the most wet days, about 11 each month. Hikers can also reach Embudito, a hike about 0.1 mile away, and the Glenwood Hills Drive Northeast and Sunset Canyon Trail are each about 0.4 mile off.
