Las Vegas / El Porvenir is a climbing area in the Pecos Wilderness, within the Pecos-Las Vegas Ranger District of the Santa Fe National Forest in New Mexico. The Forest Service manages the land, and the area sits inside designated wilderness. Two alpine routes stand out here: Mica Folly, a 5.8, and Thai Cookin', a 5.11d. Both are alpine in style, and the grade range from 5.8 to 5.11d makes this a destination for climbers looking for a challenge on the rock. Porvenir Canyon is about a mile away, and The Lower Slabs is just over a mile off.
