The Gimmes is a bouldering area on Bureau of Land Management land in the Socorro Field Office of New Mexico, about 7 miles from the town of Socorro. It sits among a cluster of other climbing spots, with Ultimate Boulder, Filet de Papillon Wall (aka Dirt Wall) and Waterfall Wall/Underhang all about 0.1 mile away. The area is a bouldering destination, with nine routes listed, all rated on the V scale from V0-1 up to V5-6. Marshall and Holly are the easiest, while Hardman Right is the hardest. The routes are all boulders, so there is no rope climbing here. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Socorro show April highs around 75°F and October highs around 73°F, while July and August average highs near 91°F with more wet days. Water Canyon Campground is about 8 miles away for anyone planning an overnight stay.
