The Bleachers is a climbing area in New Mexico, set within the Pecos-Las Vegas Ranger District of the Santa Fe National Forest. It lies inside the Bert Clancy Fishing Area (Pecos Estates), on land managed by State Fish and Wildlife. Cathedral Rock and The Cheap Seats sit right next door, each about a tenth of a mile away, making the area a compact cluster of climbing. The routes here run from sport climbs on the easier side to a few harder sport lines, with grades from 5.6 up to 5.11b. Among the named routes are Hanging Gardener (5.6), Toss No Moss (5.8), and Edgy (5.11b). The Cheap Seats also falls within this short radius, so climbers can pair routes from both areas in a single outing. For the most comfortable conditions, late spring and early fall are the sweet spots. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 73°F and September highs near 78°F, with July and August bringing the most wet days of the year. That station sits a few hundred feet lower than the area, so temperatures on the rock may run slightly cooler.
